AUTOPSY ASSISTANT
General Description:
Assist with all aspects of autopsy casework: set-up, external assessment, autopsy dissection, microscopic tissue sampling, body closure, clean-up, note-taking, data management, stocking and supply maintenance. We are willing to train.
Structure:
Contractual based on case scheduling. We often work with nurses who provide us with a schedule of available days at the beginning of each month.
Location:
Cases are performed in the greater Chicago area or at a centralized location near O’Hare.
Office meetings are at Autopsy Center of Chicago 444 N. Michigan Ave. Suite 1200 Chicago, IL 60611
Paid:
Yes. TBD.
Requirements:
Vehicle.
Hepatitis B Vaccination.
Comfort with appearance on social media (we often live stream cases).
Ability to stand for extended stretches.
Ability to lift and turn patients.

Experience with:
Livestreaming (webcams, cameras, videography, XSplit Broadcaster, El Gato)
Multimedia tech (Projectors, PowerPoint, sound boards, mics, Presonus/Audiobox II)
Web programming (HTML, WordPress, WooCommerce).
Video production and editing.
We will train a motivated learning who comes with a solid tech background.

General comfort with computers or willingness to learn. (We are willing to train a motivated individual.)
Ideal for college student with majoring in film or video (or with experience in video production) looking for flexible, part-time work a few hours a week.

VIDEO PRODUCTION AND EDITING INTERNSHIP
General Description:
The goal of the internship is to build the ethical, medical-cultural and technical skills to undertake video production in any health care setting.
Duration:
8 weeks
Structure:
10 hours/week total (2 hours/week meetings and instruction; 8 hours week independent work)
Location:
Meetings take place at Autopsy Center of Chicago 444 N. Michigan Ave. Suite 1200 Chicago, IL 60611
Paid:

Outline:
Weeks 1-4: HIPAA and confidentiality, informed consent, patient-care sensitivities, safety and infectious disease considerations, anatomy overview, editing skills to highlight educational content
Weeks 5-8: Apply skills to produce and edit autopsy video. Content will be added to our video platform, https://www.autopsy.online
Requirements:
Experience with video-editing software (cut, fade, text addition, pan, zoom, sound editing, uploading, downloading, etc.).
Comfort with visually graphic content.
College student or recent graduate.
